1. Good News
Oklahoma is protecting its school children from the travesty known as "Common Core" (uption). The state recently repealed this anti-learning, child-abusing, stupidity-fostering program. Obviously, this is bad news for the ruling class (which depends upon stupidity and ignorance among the peasant class), but it's good for everyone else.
Other good news is our economy appears to have halted its freefall. We're not in a recovery (or even close), but it seems we have stopped plunging even deeper into the abyss. Bad news for Obama's "Worst POTUS of All Time" quest (he may already have the title anyhow) but good news for us regular folks.
Some background is in order, here. With Soetoro/Obama's relentless assault on the economy, the unemployment rate among working age American adults has risen to more than twice what it was during the FDR Depression years. FDR managed to raise unemployment to "only" 25%, by aggressively draining the economy of capital. Obama has been more aggressive, raising unemployment to a staggering 51%. The good news is that's what it was when our previous issue was released and it has not gotten worse. In case you possibly question the fact that only 49% of working age adult Americans have a job, just ask your Congressional office for the actual stats. Everyone in CONgress is aware of this, they just aren't doing anything about it (indicting Obama would be a good start).
Several factors are contributing to this "arresting" of our free fall (the word "arrest" is used when climbers or industrial safety people talk about stopping a fall). Obviously, there hasn't been another economy-sapping program like Obummercare illegally rammed through CONgress since that travesty was foisted upon us. That is wonderful news. But this alone does not account for stopping the freefall in jobs.
While many companies are failing, many others are doing well enough that they need to hire people. So there is job creation exactly offsetting Obama's latest job destruction efforts. Perhaps if he feels satisfied that he has clinched the Most Damaging POTUS Of All Time forever, he won't embark on more aggressive destruction schemes in however long he has left in office. Thus far, he has not decided to ramp up the destruction. So maybe we will be in a holding pattern for a while, instead of going deeper into economic ruin. Maybe we are in stasis until such time as the narcissistic psychopath decides to leave office and less destructive POTUS takes his place.
When Obama will leave office is the big question. Rumor has it Obama will step down after completing his second term, instead of staying on for a third one. While I would not hold my breath for that to happen, it would be extremely good news if it did. Keep that thought with you as you drift off to sleep tonight. Maybe only two and a half years to go!

right in your coffee cup.
It also is great to use as an alkalinizing, nutrient-replenishing recovery

3. Brainpower tip
Do you exercise your intellect? Most people do not. They may believe they do,
but when their activities are actually analyzed it turns out they are pretty
much on autopilot. The "challenging day at the office" may leave you emotionally
drained, but it very likely didn't stimulate your intellect. A similar thing
happens in relationships. People talk about mundane things like the weather and
nobody gets upset so, gee, we had a great time. The typical chatter at a party
is pabulum for the brain. For most people, social situations are another example
of going on autopilot. This area of your brain isn't stimulated into getting
stronger.
So, how can you get the stimulation that builds brainpower? Here's a clue.
Years ago, I worked in a five-story office building. There were two kinds of
people working in that building: elevator people and stairs people. Can you
guess which group was in better condition physically? It's worth noting that the
difference in results was such that you could look at a person and know, "That's
an elevator person" or "She takes the stairs."
Mentally, do you take the stairs? Or do you rely on artifices to do your
"thinking" for you? Make a point of mindfully working your mind. |
4. Finance tip
I came across this site and wanted to share it with you:
http://www.terracycle.com/en-US/
The idea behind this is so great, I almost put this in the Good News column
instead. On their site, they say, "TerraCycle is on a mission to eliminate the
idea of waste. We do this by creating waste collection programs (each one is
called a “Brigade”) for previously non-recyclable, or difficult-to-recycle,
waste. The collected waste is then converted into new products, ranging from
recycled park benches to upcycled backpacks."
I don't know if it would be possible to package up career politicians, which
are a complete waste, and get some use out of them. Maybe try that and let me
know how it goes.
A buddy suggested spreading politicians on your lawn as fertilizer, but I
think that would kill the grass and the run-off would be pretty toxic. For other
kinds of waste, terracycle is worth looking into. |

6. Health tip/Fitness tips
Man boobs and thunder thighs. There's a cure. Seems like the ladies are
interested in fitness, lately. Thanks for your inquiries, comments, and
suggestions. Denise wrote to ask about her husband's man-boobs. They both work
out and like to look good. Except her husband doesn't.
Well, Denise, this problem is quite common these days. I do my weight
training at home (unless traveling), but my dentist and an Office Depot
(includes an oft-used UPS dropoff) are near a big gym. I see quite a few men
coming and going with their tank tops on. They think they "have pecs" but the
reality is that's fat rather than muscle.
Here in the Kansas City metro area, which has more gyms per capita than any
other metro area and yet is one of the fattest cities, the manboob problem is
rampant. But if you look, you also see rounded hips. And thunder thigh women are
the norm. What's going on?
The main problem is the diet. I don't eat meat, wheat, corn, or soy. I used
to eat all of these, but as the food supply became more contaminated I phased
them out of my diet.
The problem is the xenoestrogens.
These are estrogens that produced outside our bodies. Xeno, as in xenophobia,
means outside. Xenoestrogens are a different class from those produced in the
body. They present problems far out of your body's ability to cope.
You probably know that your body cannot handle high fructose corn syrup,
which is in an entirely different class from table sugar; a similar problem
exists with xenoestrogens. Unlike regular estrogens, you body cannot convert
these into testosterone.
|

 |
If you microwave something in plastic, you will ingest xenoestrogens. If you
drink from plastic bottles (e.g., bottled water) or eat food that came in
plastic "cans" you will probably ingest BPA (a common xenoestrogen). Have you
ever noticed that kale does not come in such containers? Yet another reason to
eat mostly fresh vegetables. I maintain my lawn to be fairly weed-free by
getting the excellent exercise of squatting down and manually de-weeding. No
lawn spray for me. Consequently, I have healthy soil and plenty of animals
(birds, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels) traipsing through here. I've noticed the
"hire a lawncare company" folks around here have pretty sterile yards.
One of the things those companies usually spray on your lawn is atrazine.
It's a pesticide and it does not play nice with the human body. If you like man
boobs and/or thunder thighs, just spray your lawn with this and roll on the
grass for a bit. Or inhale the air that passes over your contaminated grass.
Atrizine is also commonly used in agriculture, thus the GMO meat, wheat,
corn, and soy--in addition to containing brain-damaging RoundUp--is also
xenoestrogenic. It gets worse if you buy these in processed form, because the
"food" will also typically contain Butylated hydroxyanisole. This is powerful
stuff.
So:
- Eliminate non-organic meat, wheat, corn, and soy.
- Eliminate non-organic dairy products.
- Eliminate "factory farmed" eggs laid by corn-fed chickens.
- Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.
This is pretty simple advice. If you follow it, you will get results. I agree
with Denise that man-boobs are unattractive (though I have an entirely different
opinion on woman-boobs!). But the real issue there is they are a sign of
something very wrong. They are the symptom, not the disease. Other problems will
follow, such as decreased bone mass (leading to osteoporisis), decreased brain
function, increased cancer risk, muscle loss, and other problems.
As I write this, I'm at 5% body fat and approaching my 54th birthday. If I
can be lean and strong, so can you. Great bodies are made more in the kitchen
than in the gym. Don't use working out as an excuse for making poor decisions
about food and poor decisions about your immediate environment (e.g., chemicals
used in your home and/or on your lawn). |

At
www.supplecity.com, you'll find plenty of informative, authoritative
articles on maintaining a lean, strong physique. It has nothing to
do with long workouts or impossible to maintain diets. In fact:- The best workouts are short and intense.
- A good diet contains far more flavors and satisfaction
than the typical American diet.

7. Factoid
Each year 2,000,000 smokers either quit smoking or die of tobacco-related diseases. Most of these don't quit. The actual stats on tobacco-related diseases are strongly skewed toward the low side, because it includes only those with a direct causal link. It does not include death from opportunistic diseases that the weakened body of the smoker is so vulnerable to.
According to the CDC:
- Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including an estimated 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure.1 This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day.
- For every person who dies from a smoking-related disease, about 30 more people suffer with at least one serious illness from smoking.
Did you know that people who smoke ceremonial tobacco do not become statistics? That's because commercial cigarettes are treated with something like 400+ nasty substances, and other tobacco products are almost as bad.
Obviously, any REAL national health care plan would provide mandatory prison sentences for the production or distribution of these disease-causing products. The death and illness stats for marijuana, by comparison, make it akin to taking vitamin C every day. Yet, marijuana is illegal and chemically-laden tobacco is not. Go figure.

8. Thought for the Day
Kind words can bring cheer to another person, but only if they are said rather than merely thought. Always take advantage of any opportunity to thank or praise another person for a job well-done or a kind deed rendered selflessly. |
