1. Brainpower tip

How about a date?

Today is 10/10/10. Or is it 10-10-10? A month ago, was it 09-10-10 or 10-09-10?

When people express dates in all numerals, I find this inconsiderate, unclear, and confusing. In different parts of hte world, the all-numeric formats were different. In today's global environment, using any of them (except one, which we will get to) causes needless confusion.

The solution is to use the standard format, which is dd/MMM/yyyy. For a month ago, that was 10SEP2010. There is no way you can be confused by this date. Acceptable variations include 10-SEP-2010, 10 September 2010, and 10SEP10.

But there is a problem with this format, and it shows up in any kind of filing system (including a database, spreadsheet, or a file folder in a computer). If you make a list of the months, you'll notice they don't sort in chronological order when sorted alphabetically. This format also fails to group the months of any given year together.

The solution for filing systems is, thus, different from the solution for humans. For filing systems, use the format yyyymmdd. So using today's date a month ago, it would be rendered as 20100910.

By using proper date formats (there are only two), you avoid those brain-power draining miscommunication errors. This leaves your brainpower free to do other things.

2. Finance tip

Many of us analyze our utility bills. But do you analyze your government bill? Consider the "services" the federal govt provides for you at the cost of a debt so huge it now exceeds the GDP of all nations combined.

One of the "services" we get is subsidized corn. Look at some of the great things we do with it:

  1. Ship it to other countries, putting their local farmers out of business and then "rescuing" those countries via the IMF with its various attached strings. A case in point is Mexico; we put millions out of work. And Americans complain when Mexicans come here for work?
  2. Make high fructose corn syrup out of it, then add this toxin to foods and beverages. While this creates great demand for Big Pharma products, I'm not sure the huge toll in human suffering is a positive benefit.
  3. Feed it to cattle, then slaughter them for their meat. Cattle are ruminants. They eat grasses, not high-sugar grains. Put the typical corn-fed cow on grass for 24 hours, and the e-coli count in the feces drops by 80%. Corn-fed cattle have toxic meat.
  4. Create a fat stream of money flowing to executives and large stock holders of Monsanto, rewarding them for crimes against humanity.

The way I calculate things, it simply is not true that we get back pennies on the dollar for every dollar we turn over to the federal government. We don't even get that much back. We lose that dollar and then some.

Here's another "service" provided by the federal government. It mandates that folic acid be added to all refined flour products. We call this "enriched" flour. The problem is folic acid that isn't organically derived (the major flour companies use synthetic, because it's a whole lot cheaper) is highly carcinogenic. In fact, eating ONE bowl of any common breakfast cereal DOUBLES a man's risk of prostate cancer. Wheaties is not the breakfast of champions, it's the breakfast of cancer victims--courtesy of the whackos in Washington.

The single best thing CONgress can do for this country is disband the federal govt. What we have now in place is merely a tool of criminals and psychopaths. The folic acid thing is just sadistic insanity at work. So is Daylight Carnage Time. There's a long list of mentally-deranged "services" this band of buttheads provides us.

The current incarnation of the federal govt does offer some great things (e.g., National Forest Service, Amtrak, the Veterans Administration, etc.). As valuable as these are, their value is more than outweighed by the long list of mentally-deranged "services" and their attendant costs in human lives, personal freedoms, and property. Hey, does that list of three things sound familiar?

3. Security tip

Read anything on security, and it's almost sure to talk about preventing threats from this or that source. What mental picture do you have of the kinds of  sources (people) against whom you must take security measures? Do you picture some guy wearing a black ski mask, or maybe a nylon over his head? Whatever picture you do have, I'll bet it's not a complete picture.

There's a large group of psychopaths (look up that word, it has a specific meaning) that do more damage to individuals and businesses than all other "came to pass" security threats combined. Their trail of death and destruction is well-documented, and also well-ignored by the state-run mudstream media. They are very, very dangerous.

These psychopaths provide nothing of value to society, yet society provides them with office space, generous salaries, generous benefits, shotguns (70,000 were ordered in 2010 alone), free access to private information, and a stack of "get out of jail free cards."

The alleged justification for this situation is these folks raise the money the government needs to operate. But that simply is not true. The government would have MORE money if these people were just paid to stay home and do nothing (its actual funding is almost entirely from other sources). Perhaps most of them, no longer immersed in a perverse environment every day, could become sociable, decent human beings who care about other people.

And the damage these people inflict goes way beyond just wiping out their victims financially. They engage in personal smear campaigns and do other things that ruin your reputation and wreck your life. Some examples from actual case histories:

  • Calling or writing to many of the people the victim knows (the "Rolodex Raid") and telling vicious lies about the victim. This includes employers, neighbors, relatives, and business associates.
  • Contacting the local police in the victim's city with lies about the victim.
  • Making threats to the victim's employer.
  • Making threats to the victim's bank, and/or passing along false derogatory information.
  • Making threats to potential employers in the victim's industry, and/or passing along false derogatory information.
  • Making intimidating visits to your neighbors, and making insinuations or outright false statements.
  • Stalking the victim, including phone harassment at all hours.

As noted, these are psychopaths.

I am, of course, talking about the American Psychopath Institute, which goes most often by the euphemism "I-R-S." In other countries, citizens are also at risk of attack from their own bunch of psychopaths. For example, "IRD" is another of those "no truth in advertising" euphemisms for "remorseless individuals who possess enormous power thanks to gross abuse of government resources, structure, and oversight."

Not only are you exposed to whatever crimes these "outside the law" people choose to engage in, your exposure is approved by CONgress. And therein lies some potential hope for the potential victims of these psychopaths.

We have "elections" coming up this fall. Who among the candidates is pro-psychopath, and who is sane?

The sad fact is, members of The Party are almost always pro-psychopath. So a vote for a Demopubiclan or a Republocrat is almost assuredly a vote against your personal security, the security of your employer, and the security of people you care about. Yet, we do have a way to find the most egregious of the pro-psychopath candidates, so that in November we can at least register our dissatisfaction with those inDUHviduals. Here's what that way is....

One of the provisions of Obamacare is to add more people to the psychopath payroll. So, things are getting worse instead of better (this is the "change" we got). But the silver lining here is you now have a list of members of CONgress who are assuredly not your friend (with this knowledge comes hope). It's public information as to which members of CONgress voted for more paid psychopaths, and one place you can find it is at www.ntu.org. The pro-psychopath members of CONgress are the ones you want out of office as soon as possible.

But it's unlikely the "election" will result in a transition to an anti-psychopath Congress replacing the crime machine presently known as CONgress. This means we are stuck with the current "paid psychopath" threat for the foreseeable future.

Many experts advise you to make sure you file the correct paperwork by the correct due date, pay the correct amounts whether you really owe them or not, and basically follow all of the unfair rules you had no say in making and have no say in revoking.

That's good advice, as far as it goes. It will protect you from deliberately providing these people with a tenable excuse to come after you. But they don't need an excuse to destroy someone. If the facts aren't there, making things up doesn't seem to bother them.

How can you close this giant security hole? Many Americans are moving to China, the one place on earth where these psychopaths can't reach out and touch them. That's one choice. But China isn't exactly a paradise, either.

The long-term solution is to shut down their counterproductive organization. Movements like the Fair Tax www.fairtax.org seek to do this.

Prevention (by compliance), as noted, does not always work. Unfortunately, there isn't anything else you can do in the short-term. If you have not yet come under attack, it doesn't mean you aren't exposed. It just means you haven't come under attack. Relying on sheer luck isn't a secure strategy.

To close this glaring security hole, you'll need to work with organizations already on that task. And you'll need to make sure your vote doesn't support The Party and its criminal antics.

4. Health tip/Fitness tips

Solid, well-developed shoulders look great on a guy. The make him look balanced and powerful. Even without a padded shoulder suit.

When women reach their genetic potential with shoulder development, their entire figure is enhanced. This effect has to do with how the eye follows an outline. This effect is why women's clothes often have shoulder pads. And just try buying a man's suit without shoulder pads--it's probably not going to happen.

Men and women can both ditch the shoulder pads and look great. What happens when you are wearing something, say, a tank top, that doesn't have pads? With proper shoulder development, you can ensure you always have that powerful shoulder look. Because it will be part of you, not part of something fake like shoulder pads.

If you go to a gym, look around. What you don't see are well-developed, cut shoulders. You do see large front delts from cheating on the bench press, but that's about it.

7. Thought for the Day

Some people are approval seeking individuals, and their need for approval often leads to dumb choices. Other people get approval, simply because they do what's right.
