Here is how the polo shirt contest works:

Quarterly, we award one polo shirt to the person with the most referrals, one to a person drawn at random from those who made referrals in the quarter, and one to a current subscriber of our e-newsletter. We hold the option of awarding additional prizes, such as cups, letter openers and pens to these winners--and to having more winners. Prior to 2002, we held the contest semi-annually.

We reserve the right to change the rules to make the contest more fair to the contestants, especially if we must break a tie (for example, we may just go ahead and award more shirts).

As of 01SEP04, this contest is limited to the continental USA (unless the winner agrees to pay for international shipping).

Each referral counts as one entry. If you refer 100 people, you get 100 chances to win.

We will disqualify you if you spam the contest by sending the same referral repeatedly. And then we'll send someone to your house to break your legs. Just kidding....

We identify winners by their e-mail address. Use the same one (as sender, not recipient) each time to maximize your odds.

Referring yourself doesn't count.

Drawings take place at the end of each quarter.

We will contact you for your address and the size shirt you need.

If a contacted winner does not reply within 4 days, we select another winner.

These are available for purchase well below our cost at any time.
