Mr. Blue Sky Lyrics
Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
It's stopped rainin' ev'rybody's in a play
And don't you know
It's a beautiful new day hey,hey
Runnin' down the avenue
See how the sun shines brightly in the city
On the streets where once was pity
Mister blue sky is living here today hey, hey
Mister blue sky please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?
Hey you with the pretty face
Welcome to the human race
A celebration, mister blue sky's up there waitin'
And today is the day we've waited for
Hey there mister blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around see what you do
Ev'rybody smiles at you
Mister blue sky, mister blue sky
Mister blue sky
Mister blue, you did it right
But soon comes mister night creepin' over
Now his hand is on your shoulder
Never mind I'll remember you this
I'll remember you this way
Mister blue sky please tell us why
You had to hide away for so long
Where did we go wrong?
Hey there mister blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around see what you do
Ev'rybody smiles at you
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
Evil Woman Lyrics
You made a fool of me
But them broken dreams have got to end
Hey woman, you got the blues
Yes you ain't got no one else to use
There's an open road that leads nowhere
So just make some miles between here and there
There's a hole in my head where the rain comes in
You took my body and played to win
Ha ha woman it's a crying shame
But you ain't got nobody else to blame
Evil woman, evil woman
Evil woman, evil woman
Rolled in from another town
Hit some gold too hot to settle down
But a fool and his money soon go separate ways
And you found that fool lyin' in a daze
Ha ha woman, what you gonna do?
You destroyed all the virtues that the Lord gave you

It's so good that you're feeling pain
Yes you better get your face on board the very next train
Evil woman, evil woman
Evil woman, evil woman
Evil woman, evil woman
Evil woman, evil woman
Evil woman how you done me wrong
But now you're tryin' to wail a different song
Ha ha funny how you broke me up
You made the wine now you drink the cup
I came runnin' every time you cried
Thought I saw love smilin' in your eyes
Ha ha very nice to know
That you ain't got no place well left to go
You got me runnin' goin' out of my mind
You got me thinkin' that I'm wastin' my time
Don't bring me down, no no no no no
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down
You wanna stay out with your fancy friends
I'm tellin' you it's go to be the end
Don't bring me down, no no no no no
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down
Don't bring me down, Bruce
Don't bring me down, Bruce
Don't bring me down, Bruce
Don't bring me down
What happened to the girl, I used to known
You let your mind out somewhere down the road
Don't bring me down, no no no no no
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down
You're always talkin' 'bout your crazy nights

One of these days you're gonna get it right
Don't bring me down, no no no no no
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down
Don't bring me down, Bruce
Don't bring me down, Bruce
Don't bring me down, Bruce
Don't bring me down
You're lookin' good just like a snake in the grass
One of these days you're gonna break your glass
Don't bring me down, no no no no no
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down
Don't bring me down, no no no no no no no no
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down, down, down, down, down, down
I'll tell you once more
Before I get off the floor
Don't bring me down
ELO Bio
FORMED: 1971,
Birmingham, England
DISBANDED: 1988
Formed in 1971 from the ashes of one of Britain's greatest eccentric rock bands, the Move,
the Electric Light Orchestra drew heavily from the ornately lumbering "I Am the
Walrus"-period Beatles.
This is shown to extreme effect on their oddly engaging
debut, No Answer. Of particular note is the track "10538 Overture."
Move
expatriates Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne, and Bev Bevan formed the initial nucleus of ELO, but
multi-instrumentalist Wood split after No Answer to form the bizarrely '50s-influenced
Wizzard. Their sophomore release, ELO II, retained some of the off-key crunch of the
debut, but it is clearly a transition to what became a very slick, highly orchestrated
pop-hit factory.
Between 1975 and 1981, ELO managed 17 Top 40 hits, among which were
"Evil Woman" (#10), "Telephone Line" (#7), "Don't Bring Me
Down" (#4), "Hold on Tight" (#10), "Shine a Little Love" (#8) and
the wonderful "Can't Get It Out of My Head" (#9). ELO also scored a #24 hit with
"Do Ya," which was the Move's only stateside chart hit.
ELO increasingly became
a side project to leader Jeff Lynne's successful outside artist productions, which
included Brian Wilson, Dave Edmunds, Tom Petty, the Traveling Wilburys, Randy Newman, and
George Harrison. ~ Rick Clark, All-Music Guide
