| Boost your project management skills
significantly, by studying at your own pace with our project management
courses.
Perhaps you excel in many areas
of project management, but need an edge so you can turn in truly stellar project management performance.
Our
project management courses give you the inside edgeinformation
you just wont find in school. What you'll learn in our courses comes from extensive
research, interviews, and experience. Our successful mentors want you to succeed.
These courses kill some myths, while unearthing nuggets
of project management wisdom. The entire series takes a real-world view, as opposed to
an academic paint-by-numbers view. If you want to succeed
as a project manager, you will have taken a significant step by taking
our
project management courses.
These project management courses are based on the
PMI philosophies, but also tap into the "secrets" of master
project managers. No longer do you need to learn from the school of hard
knocks. |
| Overview
of Basic Courses |
| Basic Course 1: A foundation for learning project management principles
This course teaches you the foundational concepts
on which to build your project management skills. You must know this
material if you are to understand how to competently administer and
manage projects. In fact, some projects have failed spectacularly and
expensively due to a lack of understanding of the very concepts you'll
learn here.

 |
| Basic Course 2: How to initiate a project properly
Proper project initiation prevents the project
from tanking later, due to "landmines" inadvertently sown in
the early stages of the project. When you initiate a project properly,
everyone knows what's expected of them and of the project--and that
includes the project sponsors, not just your project team.
|
 |
| Basic Course 3: How to build the project plan
The project plan is far more than a "to
do" list. Done properly, project planning takes minimal time and
produces maximum results. Good project planning allows the most common
problems to resolve themselves, saving you time for where you are really
needed.
|
 |
| Basic Course 4: Matching project resources to the requirements of stakeholders
To bring in a project on time and under budget,
you must identify the project stakeholders and define their needs, so
you can get the resources to do the job. Trying to do this in
mid-project can result in a political war you can't win. Doing this at
the outset--and doing so properly--puts in place one of the keys to the
success of your project.
|
 |
| Basic Course 5: How to develop component plans to support the project
Project component plans are the subplans of your
overall project plan. PMI recommends this approach, based on decades of
project management history. The course covers the various aspects of
each subplan you'll need to create, and provides plenty of examples from
which to learn. This course will help you develop the expertise to
develop the component plans that make a successful whole.

Instructor credentials:
Mark Lamendola holds an MBA (with a 3.97 GPA), Certified
Professional Manager designation, and membership in Mensa (requires genius
IQ for admission). He is on the Board of Regents of the Institute of
Certified Professional Managers and has served on the boards of other
prestigious organizations.
He has managed projects--large, small, and multiple.
He has authored over 4,200 articles in print or online, has taught many
technical courses, and is in demand as a speaker. He has saved some
companies thousands of dollars a week, just by applying principles
you'll find in these courses. BG&E, for example, realized a permanent
$3 million per year cost reduction at one facility in 1987--you can
see this in the annual report for the same year. Frigidaire realized
a $750,000 annual savings through application of a single principle
from these courses. So, he "walks the walk" and tells you
things that work.
You can have confidence in this instructor's ability
to train you quickly. Here's an example of his success. In 1989, he
trained a martial arts novice for six months. That trainee took 2nd
place in an annual open style martial arts tournament in Dallas, defeated
only by 1988's grand champion. If you want to learn, this is your man.
His best qualification is very simple: he cares
about your success.
