Good project planning allows the most common problems to resolve themselves, saving you time for where you are really needed.
Basic Course 4: Matching project resources to the requirements of stakeholders To bring in a project on time and under budget, you must identify the project stakeholders and define their needs, so you can get the resources to do the job. Trying to do this in mid-project can result in a political war you can't win. Doing this at the outset--and doing so properly--puts in place one of the keys to the success of your project.
Basic Course 5: How to develop component plans to support the project Project component plans are the subplans of your overall project plan. PMI recommends this approach, based on decades of project management history. The course covers the various aspects of each subplan you'll need to create, and provides plenty of examples from which to learn. This course will help you develop the expertise to develop the component plans that make a successful whole.
