900 Quick Look
The 900-series translator provides several easy to use translation tools. Because these tools all work in both directions, they allow two people with different languages to communicate.
Full text translation. Enter your own random sentences. Available only in certain languages (see the specs tab for a given language set).
Translation dictionary. Look up single words. Natural human voice output in many language sets (see specs tab).
Translating phrasebook. Contains 7,000 phrases per language (so 14,000 on any two-language translator). Natural human voice output regardless of language. Speech recognition feature for selecting phrases.
Pictured dictionary. Contains hundreds of words in 183 different languages, plus natural human voice output. Translates between any two languages, and shows picture of what is being translated. Available only in certain languages; see the Summary tab.
The 900 is very similar to the iTravl, in terms of the software on it. The 900, however, has more "ponies under the hood." It was originally based on the iTravl, originally the only difference being case style. But the 900 has gone through several revisions and is noticeably superior to the iTravl today.

Translate 126 languages in any direction, with the Ectaco 500XM Talking Pocket Dictionary. It has advanced TTS speech synthesis that pronounces any word in Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish. It has English and Greek phonetic transcription. This device does not have a phrasebook; it is a translating dictionary, only. 1,000,000 words; slang, idioms, and general expressions.
Just type in a few letters of a word, and the dictionary will automatically display words starting with these letters. When you are unsure of the spelling, the Vector Ultima spell-checker allows you to enter the word as you hear it and then choose a spelling version from the suggestions list.
This pocket electronic translator also contains a bilingual business organizer with a telephone directory, a scheduler, and a password security function. You may exchange data between your 500-series pocket electronic translator and a personal computer to keep a backup copy of your organizer data.
The technology to provide "speech to speech translation" is unlikely to exist in your lifetime. Thus, nobody actually sells a translator that does such a thing. Men take the Russian version of what is available to Ukraine and come back with brides. So, we know existing technology works just fine for two people to really communicate.
