Reading
Reading is easy on a jetBook, thanks to its variable font zoom and crisp 5" TFT screen. There is virtually no eye fatigue, unlike viewing notes on a computer screen. With support for over 9 formats, you can find eBooks almost anywhere online. You can even create your own documents and load them instantly.
You can load and store thousands of books, class notes, and lesson plans on the jetBook K-12. It allows you to instantly bookmark pages, mark items to summarize, and even hear the book read to you through the built-in TTS (Text To Speech) engine.
Additionally, it has a cradle to stand the unit up and an Ectaco C-Pen scanner so you can scan text, upload it to the device and have it pronounced fluently, translated to any language, or even stored for later use. And the cradle doubles as a charger (the device can charge from any USB source, the cradle being one).

A brand new feature in the jetBook K-12 is the ability for the unit to pronounce anything you scan using its added C-Pen scanner. Words, sentences, and even paragraphs can be swiped and read aloud in a fluent human voice. This feature is perfect for users with dyslexia or those having issues reading and decoding words.

Users can additionally look up word definitions in the built-in Oxford English Dictionary.
All definitions in the Oxford Dictionary can be read aloud by device.

More e-books and reference documents are in the PDF format than in all of the Amazon Kindle's formats combined.
The Amazon Kindle doesn't read PDFs, meaning you can't use it to read the vast majority of the free stuff that's out there.
Thousands of e-books are available online for free (but you can't read them on the competing product, the Amazon Kindle). And even if you do decide to buy some titles, they are likely to cost less than the same books on paper. We also have these titles ready for you, below.
