Her first published novel was a Regency romance, and that was in 1978--while she was still a kid!

She later earned an Master of Arts in early 19^th century European history, further bolstering her ability to write about romances in that era (she also writes about other eras--thus, her Viking romance novels).

After seven more romances, she wrote her first long historical novel, Devil's Embrace. Her growing repertoire includes a mix of these long novels and shorter contemporary novels. She pumps out one of each, annually.

One her her hallmarks is the character-
based series. If you are already a fan, you know how easy it is to get attached to her characters. So, she brings them back for further adventures.

This approach works: She's made the New York Times Bestseller list 35 times. In a row. With nearly 40 million copies of her novels in print, she appears on other bestseller lists as well.

Her interests include traveling and skiing. Of course, she is an avid reader, too. In addition to feeding her mind, she trains physically to keep her body in shape. She and her husband (a medical doctor) live in northern CA.
