Mindconnection Affiliate Program Information
Thank you for your
interest in becoming an affiliate. This page provides important information. At
the end, you will find instructions on how to set up your affiliate account.
What we sell
-
Books, software, and courses via electronic download
- Language translators, supplements, and other items via physical delivery.
What you can sell:
Anything in the store URL of http://www.mindconnection.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc
and all subsequent derivations.
Commissions
-
Using new affiliate software effective
31DEC2005, we changed our payout from 10% of the purchase price to 25% of the
profit (spread between wholesale and retail). This allows us to avoid product
exclusions and it allows you to make more income.
-
All of the products on which
you can make a commission are sold via inside the store URL of
http://www.mindconnection.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc
and all subsequent derivations. You do not get a commission on the items sold
outside this URL (those items are not ones we actually handle the transactions
for).
-
You will also get credit for clickthroughs. You
need a lot of clickthroughs to make any money, so focus on product promotion.
Cheating on clickthroughs is pretty much a waste of your time. And we do monitor
this and can easily spot click fraud. If we spot it, you're fired as an
affiliate.
-
Former product exclusions, now done away
with, are items in these categories: Codebooks,
Electrical Training and Teaching Children (Minding Your Money). We carry a slim
margin on these, but now can make it worth your time to sell them.
Payouts
We pay monthly, if your commission is $25 or more.
Commissions less than $25 will roll over to the next month. And at year's end,
we "clean out" commissions that are below $25 but high enough to make it worth
writing a check.
Support
We’ll try to help you be successful. You are free to:
- Copy
product information from Mindconnection to promote our products.
- Develop your own material, or to ask us for help in writing it.
- Use articles (in their entirety) from our library to boost your traffic. These
articles do not need to be related to our products, but your site should be.
Creating links
We recommend links to specific categories and products--conversions
are far higher than what you can get with a generic link. These are extremely easy to do. Just be sure to test
these—we expect you to test your links, and that figures into your payments
via some click-through credits. A simple link to the home page is pretty much a
waste of everyone's time.
To create a product or category link
- Navigate
to that product or category
- Copy
the URL. For example,
http://www.mindconnection.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=M/CTGY/0000COURSES
- Append
the last part of the generic linking code—the part with
“&AFFIL=” and whatever is to the right of the equal sign. For
example: &Affiliate=microsoft (in our dreams....). So, if Microsoft
became our affiliate, their link to the courses category would be:
http://www.mindconnection.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=M/CTGY/0000COURSES&AFFIL=microsoft
Banners
No banners. You make money from
describing why people should buy a given product. You do not make money by
shoving banners in their faces.

We'll spare you the hype and not draw
out one of those charts that shows you will earn $25,000 after 3 weeks with our super
duper product everyone is dying to get their hands on. Nor are we going to push some MLM
scheme on you.
What we will tell you is these are excellent products--mostly
downloadable courses. And they serve markets that really need them!. You can view product
descriptions at
http://www.mindconnection.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc
Here are some key points about our program:
- These are our own products and the products of
selected vendors. These are not commodity products.
- Knowledge products, especially project management courses, are hot.
- We always have new products in development, thus we have an expanding
product line. This means more offerings for our customers and more sales for you.
- Our pay rate is above average.
- Once you refer a customer, we track that customer so you get the sale
even six months from now--even if they bypass your link to us, you get the sale.
- You can see your performance stats whenever you want.
If you join as an affiliate, you need at least one page that has something to
do with the products we sell. Just take a look at our storefront.
If your site doesn't have synergy with ours, you
aren't going to make any money with this program. If your site is
complementary, you could make a fair amount of money. We
recommend you have at least 5,000 unique visitors a week before joining this program.
We get that many visitors a day, and it takes that many to make decent money at
this.
Once you are an approved affiliate, we will consider you a member of
our team. That means we will listen to your suggestions on how all of us can do a better
job serving our course students and other customers, and how all of us can make more money doing so.
We will also help you promote your own site. We aren't going to do
like some merchants and steal your customer after they make one sale through you.
Together, we can succeed.
Together, we can succeed.
Three rules:
- Be professional and ethical. That means no MLM, no spamming, no
grandiose promises in your promotional literature.
- Respect the privacy of those who visit your site. Mindconnection does
not sell or give visitor information to other parties. We ask that our affiliates accord
their visitors--at least on any promotions for our products--that same level of respect.
- Do not compare us to other sites or knock them. We do very
well in our own niche (the "super skills"), but do not, for example, offer a
comprehensive program for project management. Some of our customers need those other
resources, too. We believe if you help the customer, the money will come.
