How do I know if it translates both directions? Most of the translators translate in both directions. We recommend going back right now and reading the Web copy for the model you are interested in.

Here are some general tips: In the Ectaco line, we show the symbol <=> to designate this. The Lingo translators we carry are all bidirectional. The scanners will be Unidirectional if they have a U at the end of the product code.

How do I know if the item I want is in stock? Few of the items are "in stock." Manufacturing today is done to order, with a very small supply of the most popular items made ahead of time. This is the Lean Thinking model that made Toyota famous. You perhaps have heard of kanban, kaizen, Taguchi, and Just in Time. This lowers the costs of production and the price of the products. Sometimes, however, demand outstrips the ability to produce.

Your real question is probably, "How far in advance do I need to order this before my trip?" The answer to that is, "Order it now, so you are familiar with the unit before you take your trip."

How long will it take to arrive? This depends on how far you are from the factory. Our translator suppliers are coincidentally all on the east coast, so figure your UPS zone from there. The USA west coast is about 4 business days. The USA Midwest is about 3. Certain areas, such as Idaho, require an extra day.
Why do you offer only UPS Ground for shipping? We don't want you to pay for expedited shipping, only to find the product isn't available for a week because of order backlog.
What if I want it right away? E-mail us at sales@mindconnection.com and we'll work something out with you. We do handle expedited orders on a case by case basis. Expect to pay considerably more.
Why isn't shipping free? Ask the UPS drivers why they don't work for free! Someone has to pay for delivery, and it is always the customer--regardless of what hype a vendor claims.
You guarantee the lowest price, but I saw a lower price on Amazon. All of the units Amazon carries at a lower price are discontinued and no longer available. Amazon simply has not updated their system to reflect what is available. We work closely with the manufacturer to know this, and we work closely with the manufacturer to bring you the best deal. If you do find a lower price, please give us a chance to match it or beat it.
Why don't you carry a complete line of each of your suppliers' products?

We have selected the products we feel best serve the end-user. Thus, we don't carry many of the older items. We have found people who buy older technology later want to upgrade anyhow. We just save them the hassle.
What do the voices sound like, on the talking translators? The devices are small, so the speakers are small. You won't get hi-fi. The sound is OK, but not great. It does the job.
What if I don't like the unit? You can return it. However, we have tightened our return policy due to abuse.
