Mindconnection has been in business since 1997. Mindconnection is a privately-owned LLC. Experts from around the world collaborate on the site, contributing content and products. Many of the products are downloadable or delivered via e-mail, but some—such as the language translators—are not.

The principal, Mark Lamendola, graduated at the top of his MBA class from Lake Erie College in 1992. Lake Erie’s program follows the same model as Harvard’s, without the beer parties and all the retaking of exams. The focus is on competence, rather than on connections.

Mark is a constant student of business, and this shows in the way the company is run. No debt, no call centers in India, no slimy "marketing" tactics, and none of the goofy stuff that left so many dotcoms dead.

Mindconnection reflects the personality of its founder—a member of Mensa—thus the intellectual breadth and depth of the site.

The purpose of the company is to provide tools and resources for the knowledge worker. But Mindconnection also reflects the efforts of imperfect human beings to help make at least a small part of this world a bit better. If you ever feel your customer experience doesn't reflect that, write to Mark and explain the problem and how you want it solved. Mindconnection’s philosophy: "We believe profits follow integrity and service."

Until late summer of 2002, Mark worked "by day" as an editor for a trade magazine before leaving there and taking Mindconnection full-time. He has over 7,000 articles in print or online, and not just from that magazine. He does work in a variety of fields such as training, software development, psychology, fitness, retail sales, engineering, and art.

Mindconnection has collaborators and subject matter experts contributing to the intellectual depth of Mindconnection and its offspring sites. The net effect is a huge conglomeration of collective knowledge, along with cool products you just don’t find at your local Wal-Mart--available conveniently online.
