| The 2006 International Zoning Code promotes uniformity and consistency in zoning for city planners, code officials, and developers. This publication is an excellent resource for jurisdictions that do not currently have a zoning code or are operating with one that is outdated.
The 2006 International Zoning Code is intended to safeguard the health, property and public welfare by controlling the location, use or occupancy of all buildings buildings and structures through the regulated and orderly development of land and land uses.
The provisions apply to the construction, alteration, moving, repair and use of any building, structure, parcel of land or sign within a jurisdiction, except work located primarily in a public way, public utility towers and poles, and public utilities unless specifically mentioned in the Zoning Code.
