In the dictionary, the voice in English is natural human voice recorded by a live human. That is also true of most of the other languages. See above for this specific language set.

At last, someone got a pocket translator right. I mean REALLY right. Over the years, I've tried several different makes and models, including some Ectaco ones. All of them have had some issue or another that I've found frustrating. The LUX is not that way at all, and is truly a pleasure to use. Very easy, nothing to bend your mind.
The only downside is I didn't invent any new cursewords to expand my vocabulary!
I'm used to hype, so didn't expect the speech to speech translation feature to actually work. Amazingly, it does. Kudos to Ectaco for a job extremely well done!

The device is awesome! It is like, what? One generation away from Star Trek’s universal translator? Do you have a Klingon or a Vulcan version?
Easy to use, speech to speech function is beyond expectations, 3.20.2014

I am very happy with this pocket translator, somewhere between ecstatic and overjoyed. The online description sounded too good to be true, but this device delivers on every promise and then some. I'm usually "satisfied" with my technology purchases, except of course with Windows 8 which is a total disappointment and ripoff. But the LUX is just amazing. Very elegant design, obviously with the user in mind (unlike W8).
I learned long ago to plan on spending 30 minutes with the user guide to get the "lay of the land" for any gizmo I buy. I think with the LUX, it took me only 15 minutes and I was easily able to use the various apps. Of course, the big one was the speech to speech translation. Works like a charm!
I highly recommend this translator and am very happy I bought it. Not only does it exceed my needs for translation, but it has Skype and other apps that I will be using extensively on my trip.
