Title: Keeping Your Cool

Presentation Summary:

With the shrinking geometry of today’s servers and an exponential increase of heat density a constant problem faced by critical facility managers is how to cope with this excess heat. Airflow management plays a crucial role in deciding true cooling capacity as well as defining the efficiency of the cooling system itself.

Utilizing CFD modeling to allow us to first understand the “whys” of what is happening, we can then move forward to create a “cooling road map”. A strong airflow management program begins with a “cooling road map” that leads to both increased cooling capacity (as much as 17%) and reduced cooling costs (as much as 30%). Each data center needs to create its own personalized road map to optimized cooling to meet the demands of current economic and equipment conditions.

Speaker Bio:

With over 7 years experience in critical environments, Vince has helped develop multiple best practice products and services currently on the market with a focus on data center cooling performance and efficiencies. With a heavy background in CFD modeling, he has helped make changes to improve user interfaces and functionality on multiple data center CFD software’s packages.
